Aging
These courses focus on the unique challenges and opportunities associated with aging and working with older adults across diverse settings. Designed for social workers, the courses explore key topics such as healthy aging, cognitive decline, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, elder abuse and neglect, end-of-life care, and the social, emotional, and physical changes that occur later in life. Learners will gain insight into the biological, psychological, and social factors that influence aging, as well as the impact of culture, family dynamics, and healthcare systems on older adults and their caregivers.
Through evidence-based instruction and practical examples, these courses equip social workers with the knowledge and skills needed to support aging clients with compassion and competence. Emphasis is placed on assessment, ethical decision-making, care planning, advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and culturally responsive practice. Collectively, these courses help social workers enhance their ability to promote dignity, independence, and quality of life for older adults while meeting continuing education requirements.
